HeArt Classes

with Jayne Bateman in Cheddar, Somerset.

Learning to paint and draw representationally is actually simple, it's just understanding how to really see what you're looking at, applying a few art principles and then putting in the practice. However, often the hardest part is overcoming those inner voices which can stop us from expressing who we are within our art, and sometimes even stop us getting started at all. My passion is bringing out the inner artist in anyone who would love to paint and draw, and especially those who struggle with emotional or mental blocks to their creativity.

My passion for art goes back to childhood and I've been a professional artist tutor for over 15 years. I am also a fully trained Homeopath which is a holistic complementary therapy and have been running clinics since 2011, helping patients regain their health whilst supporting them through emotional and mental trauma.

"I find it so rewarding teaching people who always wanted to make art

but never thought they could draw or paint at all."

Making art can be extremely therapeutic and promotes healing, wellness and personal change as it allows you to forge a connection between mind and body. Most importantly, learning art is about having fun, feeling relaxed and being excited about what you are creating.

Tuition is held in my home studio which is only a two minute walk from Cheddar Gorge caves, cafe's and shops. There is free parking directly outside the studio.  As the focus will be on connecting to your individual artists style and voice, you will need to bring your own art materials with you, which will allow you to continue working at home. Help will be given on choosing what materials are right for you.
